Wedding Video Pricing for San Francisco
"Please, please tell me you're still doing weddings in San Francisco..." is a common phone call question here at SCG, but it has a complicated answer.
We've offered them the past few years, but it has proved too complex to operate from Atlanta on a long term basis. Soooooooo, we decided to turn all of our San Francisco work over to our 2 shooters (who we love) who live in the Bay area. They will shoot the weddings, but we do all of the editing. Okay, so it's not that complicated. Actually it's exactly what we've been doing, but now instead of paying us, all arrangements are made with "Form & Function Productions", Bill & Becky's company. They shoot your video, and then send a digital copy off to Atlanta for editing.

They are a separate company (so obviously you're hiring them, not us), but we have been working with them for the past few years and we think they're awesome peeps. They have been trained by the same trainer (Ben Morgan) as our Atlanta and east coast crews and have shot dozens & dozens of weddings for us before we worked out this cool arrangement.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND SCG MONEY FOR THE SAN FRANCISCO WEDDINGS. We will have to send it right back to you. Please make all arrangements with Becky & Bill.
"Form & Function Productions" Wedding Video Packages:
"I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT SPIELBERG" $2800
Includes:
-Two cameraman arrive one hour before your ceremony
-Third un-manned camera during ceremony
-Wireless microphone during ceremony (doesn't project)
-Three DVD's with:
"Getting Ready" -highly edited, includes one
of our famous intros
"Ceremony" -edited the way it
happened (bad violins and all)
"Reception" -dances, toasts, movie credits, etc.
"Highlights" - a recap of day set to music
-Cases for your DVDs designed to look like a movie.
DETAILS:
*A $500 non-refundable deposit reserves the wedding date. As we receive deposits constantly, only when we receive the deposit is the date reserved. For the "Speilberg" and "Academy" packages, the balance is then split into 2 payments: one due four weeks before filming begins (shooting being either the wedding or the rehearsal videos), and the other due one month after the wedding date. Any added features, applicable travel fees, or extra hours are due up front with the second payment. For the "Do-It-Yourself" package, the entire balance is due 4 weeks before shooting.
Depending on the city that you live in, there may be an additional travel fee that will be included on the info packet that you receive. Email us for a quote.
THE "Do-It-Yourself" Package: We also occasionally get requests from folks in the film industry who want us to film the wedding and give them the footage to edit. This package is $1800 for the same shooting features as the "Speilberg" package (minus the editing), including the wireless microphone. The unedited footage is given to you on miniDV digital tapes directly after the wedding.
Rehearsal Dinner: Call us for a quote on filming/editing your rehearsal dinner and adding it as a button on your finished DVD.
Picture Montage: We have a cute way of doing these, so check out a sample on our demo. For $300, send us your 75 pictures scanned to a CD and we will edit them to music and send it to you on DVD. DO NOT SEND US YOUR ORIGINAL PICTURES IN THE MAIL. Just send us a disc with the scanned images. As much as we love the good old USPS, it's just not a good idea dropping your most cherished photos in the mail. Just so you know, it runs about 50 cents per picture at a place like Wolf Camera to scan pictures to a disc. If you want more than 75 pics, let us know and we can work out a price.
*Additional DVD copies are $20 each (a re-authoring charge of $150 will apply for all DVDs ordered after the final copies have been sent, since the files are removed from our system at that time).

*We do not do the complicated time limit thing that other companies do. We show up one hour before the ceremony and leave when the couple departs. This is usually plenty of time to shoot a great wedding video. If you need us to show up earlier (like for a Ketubah signing or something), we charge $100 for each additional filming hour.
Raw footage can be purchased on DVDs for $450.

*WE DO NOT GUARANTEE ANY SPECIFIC TIME FRAME for receiving your finished product. We want to finish it as quickly as possible for you, but refuse to rush a video even if our workload increases (we want to do it right!). When you receive the video, you will be asked if you would like to change any of the music or have any section deleted from the final edit. We rarely get requests for changes, but do not mind making them at all.

Wow, you're still reading. I'm so proud of you for making it to the end. Hmm. I don't know how to reward you. I know, I'll tell you about our DVD cases. Is that rewarding? Whatever. You get to pick from the two DVD cases in the picture above. They will have your name and pictures on them though, and not the nice people you see now. There will be critics quotations, a PG rating thingy, pictures from your wedding, academy award nominations, etc...it's really cute.
